Life teams

Life Teams are designed to support Christians in their spiritual growth and to expedite the fulfillment of the Great Commission. These small, well-trained groups collaborate to spread the message of Christ throughout their communities. Team leaders play a crucial role in equipping members through various methods, including teaching, study, role-playing, and encouraging a lifestyle dedicated to the Great Commission.

Purpose, GOALS,  AND OBJECTIVES

The main goal of Life Teams is to prepare and empower its members to build the Kingdom of Heaven and dismantle the devil's schemes through training and equipping. Life Teams contain practical training to prepare any believer for any possible circumstance when doing the works of Christ.

There is a difference between a group and a team. A group consists of people or things in the same location, while a team is a group that collaborates to reach a common goal. Everyone on the team contributes to fulfilling the team's purpose and goals. Each member edifies, builds up, and adds to the team.

Life Teams are dedicated to reaching out to the community and making a significant impact. Unlike Life Groups, which may be more inward-focused, Life Teams' main goal is to share the love of God with those in their surroundings, motivating and encouraging others.

As a team, we have a significant responsibility. Our collective duty is to:

Introduce the gospel
Pray regularly for all individuals in their vicinity
Be supportive and heal anyone in need, regardless of time or place.

GROWTH

Life Teams typically comprise 3 to 12 individuals, with a maximum cap of 15 members. Once this limit is reached, the Life Team Leader should begin training new leaders to establish additional teams. Being observant and identifying potential leadership qualities within the group is essential.

Acts 6:7
And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Evangelism

Recent polls indicate that around 80% of individuals find their path to salvation through friends, family, neighbors, or business associates. Personal experiences with divine encounters also contribute to about 85% of all salvations. Interestingly, only a tiny fraction of people experience salvation during church services, as it tends to be more accessible for someone to step into a home than a conventional church setting.

John 10:1-5
1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
4And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

A single individual, or even a small group, cannot adequately shepherd a large congregation. The care of God's people requires the Lord to raise numerous leaders, each responsible for smaller groups of ten, fifty, a hundred, or even a thousand. While the scope of responsibilities and spiritual authority may differ, each leader engages actively with a close-knit group of three to twelve members. As Life Team Leaders connect with the congregation, they address needs, awaken spiritual gifts, nurture potential, and initiate the journey of helping individuals discover their roles within the community.

DISCIPLESHIP

Genuine biblical discipleship emerges from solid and nurturing relationships. Every believer benefits from the presence of experienced mentors who can offer encouragement, guidance, and support. In turn, we must also invest in those newer in their faith, sharing our insights and encouragement. Paul's instruction to Timothy emphasized the importance of finding reliable individuals to teach and passing on the wisdom he had received.

2 Timothy 2:1-3
1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  2 And the things that You have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit you to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.  3 You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

EQUIPPING THE SAINTS FOR THE MINISTRY

Ephesians 4 tells us that apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers were given to equip the saints for the ministry.
